BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Rains will hit most parts of China over the next three days, while Sichuan and Chongqing are forecast to experience high temperatures, the country's meteorological authority said Sunday.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected to fall on parts of Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Yunnan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei and Hunan provinces as well as Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with rainfall reaching 50 mm to 80 mm in some regions, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement on its website.
Sweltering heat will continue to grip much of Sichuan and Hubei provinces as well as Chongqing municipality for the coming two days, with the mercury hitting as high as 39 degrees Celsius in some areas, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, scorching weather is forecast for parts of south China on Tuesday, with temperatures reaching at least 35 degrees Celsius, the statement said.
