Can you watch Netflix from Uruguay? What is the process? Paying in the US and downloading movies in Urug is possible, is there a way? Do I need an American system (TV and DVD player?)
More than likely the site will be blocked... just like Hulu and a lot of other U.S. sites. They don't allow foreign IP addresses access to their information.
The U.S. networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX... and what seems to me to be the majority of the U.S. entertainment and news industry doesn't share their online videos with anyone other than the U.S.
So ther are 2 ways you can go about getting around this.
One thing you have to consider is the internet in Uruguay is SLOW... As of right now ADSL 4 MEGA (4096/512) is as fast as you can get...
1. Is to get a VPN.. This in a nutshell is a shared server with an IP address in the U.S. that a bunch of people use... It's got its downsides, it can be slow... but it's inexpensive...
2. Is to get a Proxy Server with your own dedicated IP address... This basically treats your computer like it's in the U.S. For example; the IP address I had showed that I was in Denver CO... But it was my IP address... I could do anything on any U.S. website and never once did they suspect I was in Uruguay.
The proxy company I used and would highly recomend was www.seo-proxies.com
As far as bringing electronics to Uruguay from the U.S. I HIGHLY recomend reading this about Electricity In Uruguay.
