My husband and I are traveling to Punta del Este (12/18) and Montevideo (12/19) on a cruise ship in December. From Rio to Buenos Aires, we have been able to find good guide services at expensive but OK prices EXCEPT Uruguay! We are in our 60's and have some foot and knee problems. Bus tours are so unattractive but I can't find a car and driver that speaks english or a car, driver and english speaking guide for Uruguay...... Do you have any suggestions. We are there too short a time to rent a car in each place. I emailed a limo service that was recommended on Fodor's forums but have never had a response....

We will be arriving in Montevideo 11/5/09....tomorrow!!!! We are leaving today. Will be staying at the El Ermitage and would love to meet with you and Brian while there are we are seriously considering moving to Uruguay. What are the chances??
