Hello everyone from the Johnsons!

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the forum so far! We really want to make this an interactive, valuable source of information for everyone, whether you live in Uruguay now, plan to move here or simply want to visit.

If you’re on the forum, you’ve probably been to our website or blog, but I thought I’d post a brief introduction here as well. My husband Brian and I have been living in Montevideo with our daughter Zoë since May 2009. We have another baby due in early February, a little girl named Kaylee who we’re very excited to meet.

Moving to Uruguay has really improved our standard of living, in the sense that we’re now able to spend a lot more quality time together as a family. Coming from San Diego, we really enjoy the slower pace of life here in Uruguay.

While we love Montevideo, we’re really looking forward to moving out of the city, either down the coast or to the interior, once our baby is born. This is such a beautiful country full of wonderful people, and we are really enjoying exploring Uruguay.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or Brian and thanks again for helping to make this a great community we can all enjoy!

Great to hear your story to date.
I have travelled to Montevideo a few times, and I love the city.

What do you guys to do for work, have you tackled that aspect yet.

Hi Jay, We actually have a couple of online businesses, so we aren't working a typical "job" in Uruguay.

Congratulations to the Johnson family with the new addition. You guys are gonna have your hands full, two little girls. UH Oh!
I was just browsing the web and came across your site and found it interesting, I keep hearing so much about Panama, but never Uruguay. We are a family thinking about making the plunge as well. We just want to slow down and enjoy life with our 3 year old little girl, nothing else seems to matter, other than the ability to support your family. That can be quite troublesome at times here in the States.
What sort of online businesses do you have, if you don't mind me asking?
I' am not a retiree, just a young 43 year old. We could sell our home and stuff etc.
But eventually we would need to generate an income.  Any ideas?  smile

Thanks... We're pretty excited...

We have an online business that teaches people how to create an online business...  We're in the process of completely redoing our site right now, so until it's done we're keeping it under wraps (maybe 6 more weeks)...  We also do consulting...  I recently got involved with human trafficking and that's financially very rewarding...  I'm hoping it opens the doors for me to be a drug lord and maybe even an international arms dealer...  I know, I have my sights aimed high...  But who know, Hali-Johnson may be just a few years away...

What's your current profession?  What do you want to do?  More often than not, it's not the same thing.

First... Cool, sounds interesting! Keep us informed when it comes up.

Second... WTF!  Arrogance is shattered and patience is
established as success delays its brilliant emergence.

Anyways,point taken.
