My husband and I want to live in Uruguay and travel throughout SA. We would like to eventually build a small home (or buy a small shop and live above it) near the coast once we figure out in what area we feel most at home. I am pretty artistic - refurbish furniture, make monogrammed pillowcases, etc and my husband currently helps manage a moving company, and we would like to open our own beach shop one day, but initially I would be content with a booth at the local flea market/farmers market. We want to live as simply as possible, and be as healthy as possible. We don't want to have to have a car, and we want to grow our own food. We will need good internet access but we want to get rid of our tv and focus on outdoor activities. My husband wants to get his scuba certification before we move, and I was wondering what the chances are for me getting a body-piercing apprenticeship once we get there? If so, what reputable tattoo/piercing shops I should seek out first? Also, I am ordained, specializing in pagan and other non-traditional ceremonies - will I still be able to marry people legally in Uruguay? With a large Catholic population, is this a service that will be wanted/accepted? We are not afraid of hard work and we want to learn from the locals. We are learning Spanish, and were told that total immersion is the best way to learn Castellian? Is there a good language app for that dialect? Any information will be considered and appreciated! THANK YOU!
