Can anyone recommend a dentist in Montevideo? Especially if you've had more than just cleanings done; it would be nice to know of someone who is competent and does quality work with fillings, bridges, caps, etc. Friendly and gentle is nice but is much less important to me than that they do competent work that stands the test of time.
Ideally I would love a holistic/biological dentist, or at least one who doesn't believe in mercury fillings and root canals, etc, but I think it's probably expecting too much to find one here.
English speaking is a bonus, but takes a back seat to the other priorities.
Hopefully for the health of your teeth, by this time you already found a good dentist, but in case you are not happy with him or her, I recommend Maria Cristina (Chiqui) Gago de Machado, 908-1556 at Rio Negro and Colonia (Centro). She is fantastic, good friend of my family and one of the most senior dentists that have not yet retired here. Her husband and daughter also do orthodontics.
Various dental and gum diseases can be attracted if you do not take care of your dental hygiene routine. I was quite having some sensitivity in my teeth and it was very easy for him to detect the reason. There was some problem but now it has been treated by the dentist Hermosa Beach. I am very relaxed now.
