I am thinking of opening a business on the web when I retire (most likely to Uruguay). I want to be able to sell to Uruguayans but have my website "located" in the United States. How can I get paid? Will their credit cards work in the US (I heard they are only good for the Mercosur) and I have heard that accepting international money orders is not practical. What way do you suggest that I use? How do you use Paypal when Paypal ONLY allows you to send money from the United States? So can one send money from Urug to the United States using Paypal.
Hi! the most common credit cards (I means the most people have) are accepted in Mercosur ,not abroad. Some people (like me) have International credit cards, but I don´t know how many we are. About the Paypal,you need an International credit card to use the service,so... The other way are the bank tranfer (you must pay 70U$S for each one approx) and I can tell you that it is the way that I use. Best for you and don´t hesitste in comunicate (if my english doesn´t clear enough)
in my experience vastly fewer people outside the g-7 use credit cards or (especially to buy online) than those in it.
credit card usage online is most prevalent (by far) for those in the US. eastern europe is probably 10 years behind the u.s. in comfort with buying things online with a cc (maybe more) and much fewer have a cc to begin with (for example).
